Subscription and trial

Synaps is free for Jira sites of up to 10 users, and a paid app above that - larger teams start with a free trial, billed through the Atlassian Marketplace. This page explains who pays, the trial banner, what happens when a subscription lapses, and who manages billing, so nothing takes you by surprise.

All billing happens in the Atlassian Marketplace. Synaps never asks for a credit card or handles payments inside the app.

01. Free for small teams

Synaps is free for Jira sites of up to 10 users - the full app, every feature, with no subscription and no trial countdown. Nothing below applies until your site grows past 10 users.

Above 10 users, Synaps is a paid app: larger teams start with a free trial, then subscribe through the Atlassian Marketplace.

02. When a trial ends or a subscription lapses

When your trial ends without a purchase, or a paid subscription lapses, Synaps features require an active subscription again. The map is replaced by a full-screen notice - "Your trial has ended" - with a Manage my subscription button that opens the Atlassian Marketplace to reactivate.

Your data is never deleted. Reactivating restores everything immediately, with no reinstall.

03. On a trial

If you are on the trial:

Trial runningA soft banner above the map shows "Trial - N days left" with a Manage subscription link. You can dismiss it and it comes back on the next page load.
Trial expiring soonThe banner switches to a full amber warning: "Your trial expires in N days - Activate now". The wording sharpens as the end approaches - "expires in 3 days", "expires in 1 day", "expires today". It cannot be dismissed.
Trial endedThe banner is replaced by a full-screen notice - "Your trial has ended" - and Synaps features require an active subscription. Its Manage my subscription button is the path to reactivate.

04. What admins control

Your Jira admin controls the subscription (buying, renewing, cancelling) through Manage Apps in Jira. The plan is site-wide - one subscription covers every user on the Jira site, with no per-seat configuration.

05. What's included

Every Synaps feature is part of one edition - there are no tiers to choose between. The free tier, a running trial, and an active subscription all unlock the same full app:
